Analysis Of Lyrics

In this post I will analyse the lyrics of our new chosen song


You might kill me with desire 
                      
Wind me tighter than a wire     --------------------------->    The first verse is connotes intense emotions and                                                                                                        insinuates a romantic relationship, and the metaphor                                                                                                  used in the last line offers opportunity for interesting                                                                                                  editing and imagery.                 
It's something that you do to me

I run away like mercury


And I know you think it's rough

When you're try'na patch us up     ---------------->   The second verse discusses a broken relationship and                                                                                                           personal problems. At this part in the music video we would                                                                                       feature the protagonist attempting to fix the broken/forced                                                                                          relationship. 
And I say honey what is love?

You just say I drink too much


Maybe I'm defective
Or maybe I'm dumb         --------------------------> The chorus expresses the speakers insecurities and self-                                                                                           depreciation due to indecision.
I'm sorry, so sorry for what I've done
Maybe I'm bad natured
Or maybe I'm young
I'm sorry, so sorry for what I've done


And I'm the t-shirt that I wear
Pick the thorns out of my hair          --------------> The speaker is showing obvious concern for the impact that her                                                                                 feelings may have upon others.

But made the pieces part of me



And now it hurts what we've become
'Cause you taught me how to love    ----------------> This verse connotes that the speaker has accepted that the relationship has failed and 
It's me who taught you how to stop
And you just say I drink too much

The music video for "If They Only Knew" by Alfie Arcuri is themed around LGBT awareness and an individual discovering their sexuality and identity. The theme of friendship is also prevelent throughout the video and that is something we wish to incorperate in our music video. Below you will find my completed music video production, for the song "Sorry" by Nothing But Thieves. Across my two years of Media A Level study, my production, filming, editing and creativity skills have developed massively as discussed in my evaluation, and my ability to participate in teamwork and organisational work has increased to a significantly higher level. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Myself and two other of the four members in our group sat down to discuss the ways in which our product uses, develops and challenges forms and conventions of real media products. We based our discussion off of the research we conducted prior to planning and constructing our product, and considering inspiration we took from these music videos we researched. There were also instances where we challenged the most common conventions of music videos, as discussed in the clip which we filmed on an IPhone 7 camera and embedded into this post.
